Josh Christensen is a Scenic Designer, Technical Director, and Artist currently based in California’s Central Valley.

As a freelance Set Designer, he is a regular contributor at Gallo Center Repertory Company in Modesto, CA, and Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora/Columbia, CA. In addition, he has previously designed at Seven Angels Theatre (CT), Playhouse Merced (CA), California State University Stanislaus, UC Merced, Kraken Theatre Company (CA), YES Company (CA), Ignition Theatre (AB, Canada) as well as numerous productions at Shadowland Stages (NY), where he also served as Technical Director from 2016-2019.

Josh’s diverse background as a Technical Director, Scenic Carpenter/Painter, fine woodworker, and visual artist has allowed him to approach any project in a uniquely collaborative way, which has been key to building trust and confidence with creative and production teams at every stop.

Josh currently serves as Technical Director and Scene Shop Foreman at California State University - Stanislaus in Turlock, California.
